Escaflowne's dub is nothing comparing to some of the older titles. :)
Macross II, while extremely faithful in regards to translation, has a dub that will threat to make the audience vomit after sitting through its entire run.
I shudder to remember that experience... oh and that song... terrible memory indeed.
