"Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but truth?"

I went to court today for a double case (in one of which my father was a co-defendant and another the plaintiff) and cross-examined people. All that Law and Order-watching finally came to some good. :P

My father and I went in very prepared and I'm happy to say that both verdicts were in our favor. :D

plaintiff is one who is suing somebody else

Law and Order is a popular TV show which has a law enforcement/court setting.

Hate to be nosy, but do you get a lot of $ out of this? enough to get compensated for the lawyer's fees?

It was a small claim's court. Thus no lawyers...and thus why I was functioning as the lawyer (doing cross-examination, etc).
