Here's a tip from my friend:
Remember, the purpose of the resume is to get to the interview. No company will hire you sight-unseen based only on a resume, and a great many are willing to pretty much ignore your resume if your interview goes really well. The hard part is getting to the interview. You want your resume to (subtly) say to the reader: "YOU WANT TO INTERVIEW ME!" To that effect, once you find particular jobs to apply for, you may want to re-arrange the order of certain sections, or highlight particular tidbits, based on what you think will catch their attention.
