Really, who would want to comit suicide here in US when failed to obtain a job? This entire notion here is only suitable for some close minded fools. I got the joke about China and Taiwan, and quite agree with how most Chinese parents behave and how Taiwanese politics and media works. Anyway, I don't think the event described above is solemn enough to cause depression and even the closest idea of commiting suicide. Perhaps there are Japanese people who comit suicide after been laid off, Chinese people who comit suicide when failed to enter proper college, and Americans who comit suicide after a series of depression, but to commit suicide after a failure to obtain a job opportunity is unheard and too "extreme", for I believe a person who cannot take such an even is not worth living, just like what the Japanese business owner would say.
