Overview
The story happened in 1985, where most of the characters will come back to fight the old and NEW Invaders.
About AEGIS Network
AEGIS Network is an illegal and underground organization according to GK1985 novel
Whereabouts of previous Gate Keepers characters and facts revealed about them
Reiko marries a musician and moved to Switzerland in 1979.
Fei escaped to Hong Kong (PSX Game info: Fei was born in Jiangsu, Mainland China; therefore Fei was not born in Hong Kong). She and her family went there because of the Cultural Revolution in Mainland China.
Ruriko had entered a university after finishing high school. Then she got a teacher's license and went to teach in an outlying island. Then she got married to someone in 1983.
For the rest of the GKs: Unknown.
Kageyama was actually saved by Megumi from the hurricane. After the big battle between the Gate Keepers and Shinikami Shinshi in 1970, it seems that Megumi continued to stay with Kageyama, whether they got married or not nobody knows. But Kageyama had mentioned "Even Megumi's gone..." (he said this after not long after Ukiya's dead), I think Megumi died somewhere between 1985-1988.
Bancho's gate was the Gate of Crushing—revealed in GK1985
Megane's true name is Meguro Kanetake — revealed in GK1985.
Shirei's true name was revealed in this novel too — Tokiwatari Tetsuya, "toki" means time.
The Gate Keeper of the Gate of Curve was actually the Supreme Commander. I'm still not very sure what's the power of this gate...But anyway, Mugen Majuu had been using the Gate of Curve against the GK in the battle in 1970.
New Gate Keeper?
The Official GK site states that a new character (called Hadzuki Ruka) would appear in the GK1985. But in the end Yamaguchi did not manage to let her appear...
New and Old Invaders
There are 8 Invader bosses in total.
The Known Bosses were Akuma Hakushaku, Kikai Shogun and Jigen Maou (Devil of Dimension). The last one was destroyed by Jim, Jun and Misao.
The 3 Unknown Bosess: Yuurei Shoujo (Ghost Girl), Shinikami Shinshi (Gentleman of the God of Death) and Mugen Majuu (The Inifinite Magical Beast, lame translation I know). Mugen Majuu has the ability to devour any human being, then duplicate his/her look, knowledge and power. In GK1985, it was revealed that Mugen Majuu had devoured the Supreme Commander of AEGIS (the commander of AEGIS New York). That's why AEGIS was totally destroyed in 1970.
The other two were unrevealed. (another novel?)
Shinikami Shinshi usually wears a pair of special glasses which were created by Akuma Hakushaku. But when he takes it off, he can absorb life energy of people who he's glaring at which can cause instant death. But this attack cannot cause instant death for a Gate Keeper, given the Gate Keeper had only been glared at by Shinshi for once.
Events
Shinikami Shinshi and Shun first fought in 1970.
11th Feb 1988 - Shun's death anniversary. Died in the battle with Shinikami Shinshi, who also died in the explosion.
When AEGIS was no more, some Gate Keepers (Jim, Shun, and Kageyama) continued to fight the Invaders. Kageyama had the idea to form AEGIS Network in 1985. He wanted to set up a network that will control these Gate Keepers. AEGIS Network included (maybe) gun wielding and driving without license, despite the fact that AEGIS Network is an illegal organization.
