America is bascially run by the same type of old farts that run China, so they only think of anime as cartoon and must be controled to ensure kids are only exposed to the "good" of the world. On the other hand, different places have different cultures, you can't really call them stupid or fool if they don't think like you.
Anyway the dvd are all uncut cuz the companies know who buys them, even the porn has been uncensor (hehehe), in that regard the American Dvd are superior. They are also much cheaper than Japanese one, although usually they don't pact as much goodies :(
