How many of you can write chinese?

to learn one language, one has to forgo another, is that really true...? i really admire those who can master several languages and switch at will.

I don't think so, you just need to think in the language you are using. If you are speaking/writing in Chinese, you should think in Chinese at the same time. If you are using English, you should be thinking in English.

I know both Chinese and English pretty well and a little bit of Japanese. I try to think in the language I'm speaking or writting at the time. It works very well for me.

Now just need to learn how to TYPE chinese and I'm set.

Unless... you're from Hongkong?

赞同!!在电脑上看书的确没有感觉,而且很伤眼睛的。为了不影响学习，偶老妈也是绝对不会准我看闲书和VCD/DVD的。而且还不准我打工，因此现在穷的很，我妈也不给我零花钱了，美国东西又很贵，尤其是漫画，CD之类的。我收的一大堆书《围城》，《啼笑因缘》，《茶花女》，……什么的都丢在中国呢，我妈不准我带来。——悲

CD可以download...
很多vcd/dvd也都可以..

書比較麻煩...在電腦上看的確很不舒服..
可以到學校打印嗎 ? :P
我以前試過用學校printer印網上小說...

偶的具体情况不知，很久没写中文了。但由於天天打电话，现在自认为很有语言天赋的偶身上出现了怪现象：英语阅读特好，日语听力特好，中文口语特好，任何一门语言的手写都特差，除了敲键盘打出来的。。。

From HK, so cannot type chinese. Ever since from the DOS days, I've been using chinese hand writing pad for Chinese input.

Oh! Typing english is so much easier, Even typing Japanese is easy for me. DAME!

偶在国内才上完5年级，但是作文语文各方面学习成绩都不错，出来的时间也短，才一年半多，还会写文章，但是有时候犯毛病，许多最简单的词都想不起来了！！~~

I'm wondering a 5th grade student can know how much literature?Even you are the best student. How many Chinese words you didn't have learned?How many Chinese books you have read except textbooks?How many ancient poem and nonfiction you have read?

I only finish 5th grade in China. I had been in the U.S. for about 10 years. I have the same problem as you guys. Able to read but forgetten how to write. If you don't use something for a while, eventually you will forget it.

I'm grad that I can type Chinese by Pinyin, it took me a while to learn, but I made it.
