Agree with seiyanfan... In US, you never pay for PhD, unless your family is wealthy enough that you don't ever need to work anyway.
But maybe in some other countries grad school is more affordable.
It's more common that people pay for master's such as MBA, or professional degrees.
PS. I used to enjoy taking classes so had a very heavy course load during undergrad.

不同國家的load還是不一樣
以前在國內唸under的時候全部修了157學分 平均一學期20個左右
現在一學期修3門課就已經快累死了-_-
most got tuition support(by company) in my class.:):)
偶一個quarter平均修2-3門課 偶已經覺得時間都不夠用了說-_-
by company???how does that work??

at least in canada the answer is oui
because courses u r taking in last years of high school determine which fields u are eligible to apply for.
