游戏简介：（以下内容转自“游戏基地 - GameSpot中文站”）Rockstar近日宣布，根据2005年上市的PSP版《侠盗车手：自由城故事》（Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories）移植的PS2版《侠盗车手：自由城故事》将预定2006年6月6日上市，售价19.99美元。这次强调游戏的售价，是因为在美国，PS2版的游戏，一般售价都是40美元，大作50美元，除非是小规模的资料片，否则一般不会卖这么低的价钱。
《侠盗车手：自由城故事》其游戏故事背景是设定在PC、PS2、Xbox平台上曾推出过的《侠盗车手3（Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA3）》同样的自由城（Liberty City）里，而《侠盗车手：自由城故事》将时间设定在《侠盗车手3》的三年以前，也就是1998年，玩家将会在《侠盗车手：自由城故事》里扮演《侠盗车手3》中的黑帮老大托尼·希普利亚尼（Tony Cipriani）。《侠盗车手：自由城故事》除承袭系列作其高自由度，拥有众多载具、武器可供玩家使用等多项特色。
