We have received a complaint which states that your TELUS Internet connection may have been involved in Alleged Copyright Infringement.
We have advised the copyright holder to deal directly with you, which may lead to court action. While we have not provided any account information to the complainant, TELUS Internet Services will fully cooperate with the courts. Abuse of your TELUS Internet Services may result in a disconnection of your TELUS Internet Services account.
Based on the complaint, other internet users are able to download copyrighted material (see bottom of e-mail) from IP address 209.121.211.31 which, at the time of the alleged incident, was assigned to physical address 00:0a:e6:86:98:f6 which is registered under your account. The issue is distribution. By allowing other internet users to download the copyrighted material from your computer, your computer was distributing the copyrighted material. As you are probably aware, only the copyright owner or its authorized representatives can distribute copyrighted materials.
If you are unaware of this type of activity originating from your account, you may wish to inquire with others who may have access to your account. If are using a dial-up account, change the password to your account to ensure that only authorized users have access to it. You may also want to check your system for viruses which could account for this sort of activity originating from your computer.
